HAMMONDS is proud to offer for sale this 2X BARLOW Eyepiece 1.25 This is the one piece of equipment that will greatly improve you viewing pleasure. This is a brand new barlow lens. A barlow lens will double the power of any eyepiece you have. So if you have a 25mm and a 10mm eyepiece, you can stack it with a barlow and effectively have 4 eyepieces with a 25mm, 12.5mm, 10mm, and a 5mm. It is an inexpensive way to double the number of eyepieces you have. This barlow is for 1.25" eyepieces. Metal and glass construction. MSRP $49.99 Brand is Apollo for superior quality and design. To determine the power of this barlow in your scope divided the eyepiece size into the focal length of your telescope then times it by two. Focal length of scope \ Eyepiece size x 2 = power 750 f \ 10mm= 75 X 2 = 150power 1000 f \ 10mm = 100 x 2 = 200power Be sure to not over power your telescope which will give you poor viewing. To determine the highest usable power of your scope take the diameter in inches of the primary lens or mirror and times it by 50. Scope size X 50 = highest usable power 3 (60) inch x 50 = 150 highest usable power 4.5 (114mm) inch x 50 = 250 highest usable power For viewing deep space objects, this is the highest power you want to use.
