It is about 35% lighter in weight and is offered at a lower price. It is a similar weight to most of the other backdrops offered at eBay. For the 6x10' size (actually about 5'7"x9' after shrinkage) our normal backdrop weighs 2lbs and this version weighs 1.3lbs. With the shorter length there is less chance for the subject to stand or rest on the background during shooting so a lighter material may meet your needs. Additionally, the lighter weight will cause less sag in the crossbar for some of the less robust background stands subject to sag.
