Up for auction is a Bausch & Lomb Metrogon 6 Inch F6.3 wide angle Lens. This is a later model that is mounted with an adjustable iris and comes with the original center filter as pictured. This lens has a 325mm image circle and will cover 8x10. The glass is in excellent condition with no scratches, no fungus, no fog and looking with an inspection light I can see some very light cleaning marks that will have no effect on the optical performance of the lens. There are a couple tiny air bubbles in the glass, that is typical of lenses of this age and was an indicator of the best lens glass available at the time, they have no effect on image quality. The center filter is also in great condition. This is an Incredible piece of glass that will make some stunning images. This lens compares to Hypergon or Topogon extreme wide angle lenses but the image quality is considerably better than the Hypergon and it is wider then the Topogon with similar coverage. See the pictures for cosmetics. The outside diameter of the assembly is only 4 inches so it should mount on almost any lens board. The iris has no scale marked, it is adjusted with the flexable shaft that you can see in the pictures. Normally you just install a knob on the end of the shaft and then mount that where ever you want it, then you mark the aperature scale next to the knob.
