My store sold Bell & Howell projectors back in the 1960's and 70's. My association with Bell & Howell goes back to 1967. Projectors are thoroughly cleaned, old sticky grease is removed, new WLG lubricant is applied, bulb and belt is checked and many other service checks as listed below. The speed of this unit is adjustable 860 to 1250 RPM's with the turn of a single knob or set it for slow motion at 420 RPM. You can increase the speed to dial out any flicker. If you are transfering film to DVD, slow motion is extremely helpful in editing, easily locating any frame you may want to cut. This projector is used by many to simply enjoy the old films. It's great to revisit National Parks, Disney Land and be amazed at how young everyone looks. Don't miss the thrill of reliving those special moments of the past with your family. The projector comes with a 7" automatic take up reel, Super 8 adapter, and a copy of the instruction manual. Don't let this projector get away! On Ebay it is common for ads to consists of one or two lines, such as "Projector powers up, motor runs and bulb is bright, but no film to test". A projector is not be fully tested until it is tested with film. This unit has been tested with both films and it performed flawlessly. If you buy an untested projector, it may need adjustment or repair. Who will repair it? If you can that's great. Here are some of the things I check when servicing a projector: 1. Shuttle teeth alignment (left-right & in-out) 2. Automatic film loading - must pick up film and shuttle along through the projector 3. Forward film transport - must operate smoothly without jumping or jerking 4. Reverse film transport - same standards as in three 5. Rewinding - must operate with controlled tension and without film spills 6. Speed setting - for optimal viewing 7. Spindle rotation - must move smoothly at correct speed for type of setting 8. Working bulb - must have bright projection 9. Clear lens - clean and adjust to produce clear image, or install new lens 10. Noise detection - recheck tightness of all fasteners and gear alignment If any problems are found during servicing, then they are corrected prior to being listed.
