Focussing mechanism is very smooth and quiet, and really helps to take a real close-up shots without any extra effort. The zooming mechanism easily helps to get shots of farther distance. This is one of the BEST lens whose results are comparable to the one from EF 24-105mm L series lens. The Image Stabilizer mechanism helps in taking an excellent pictures as it compensates for the camera shaking usually committed by a novice photograher. Because of its compact size, this is one of the highly sought after lens by the Professional as well as amateur photographers. Thus, this might be the only lens a photographer might need and end up using at all times! This lens works with ALL Canon EF Mount EOS DIGITAL as well as FILM CAMERAS. This lens is superbly well built. I test all my items prior to listing them here. I have tested this lens with my Canon Rebel XT (350D) and Canon 20D Digital Camera as well as Canon EOS 1V and EOS 3 film camera. The results are just impeccable! FYI, I have included here quite a few pictures taken with this lens using Canon 20D Digital camera.
