This is a used Canon EF-S 17 - 55 mm f/2.8 zoom lens in perfect working order. This lens has been lightly used, never dropped or damaged in any way. It has no scratches on the front or rear element. Included is a Canon UV filter that has been in place since I bought the lens new (to protect the front element.) This is a "sharp-cut" (ie thin) filter that will not vignette the corners of the frame at the wide end of the zoom. It has a USM motor, which is very quiet when focusing and allows the user to adjust focus manually on the fly, without changing the AF/MF switch. Is also has Image Stabilization (IS) which allows for sharper images in low light due to reduced camera shake. This lens was kept on a body, wrapped in a padded wrap and stored in a camera case. It hasn't been subjected to rough treatment in any way nor has it been exposed to extreme temperatures or humidity. It will perform exactly as a new lens would. It comes with both the front and rear caps, instruction book and original packaging and box. This lens will only fit the Canon camera's with cropped sensors, like the 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D and all the Rebel models (XTI, XSI, etc.) It will not fit the 5D or any of the EOS 1 series cameras (1D, 1Ds, etc.) This lens is considered the sharpest of the EF-S mount lenses and the only one with a wide f/2.8 aperture.
