GAF Talking View-Master Stereo Viewer No. 2020 View-Master/GAF Corp, New York. Circa 1969. Battery-Operated. This plastic 8-1/4†tall viewer is battery-operated and plays special “Talking†View-Master reels that have a record-like audio track. Sorry, the “Demonstration Reel†that was included in this set is missing. I have inserted batteries (takes 2 C batteries) and the mechanism appears to work but I have no reel to test it with. The viewer part of this device is pretty much the same as a standard viewer. You still press the lever to advance the reel and the images are still lit by natural lighting. The only thing different is the addition of sound. Excellent condition with no cracks or breaks. Attached cord carrying strap. Includes GAF Viewmaster Mail Order Form, which lists reels and viewers (including this one) that can be purchased (......if you time-travel…..GAF sold View-Master to VMI in 1981). View-Master is still in business today, owned by Mattel and operated as part of their Fisher-Price division. As far as I know, the Talking View-Master reels have not been made for many years.
