BRAND NEW! Meade 3.1" or 80mm, F8.8 or 700mm focal length achromatic refractor tube assembly. This auction includes refractor OTA, clamshell (without dovetail) and new laser viewfinder. This has a 1.25" rack and pinion smooth focuser. This is an achromatic high quality Meade coated objective lens so it gives sharp almost false color free images up to 175X. This scope is great for widefield views of the Andromeda galaxy using a 40mm eyepiece. You can view Jupiter with a 9mm eyepiece and see Jupiter's bands and great red spot. This makes a telescope or guidescope. With a 40mm eyepiece you get 17.5x or with a 4mm eyepiece you get 175x. You can also use anything in between, but that is the normal low and high end for this tube. This tube can handle easily 60x per inch as do fine telescopes.
