This lens is essentially like-new, with only the some very minor finish wear on the HB-17 Lens Hood. The AF-S motor is perfectly silent. The zoom and focus rings operate very smoothly, as does the aperture ring and diaphragm. The glass is perfect - no marks of any kind. Included are the original Nikon CL-73 Case, Nikon HB-17 Lens Hood, instruction book and both lens caps. You won't find a more perfect sample of this fine lens. Do not mistake this lens for the 80-200mm non-AF-S lens - this is a complete optical revision with 5 ED elements in its 18 element design! So, not only has auto-focus speed been dramatically increased, image quality has been brought to a much higher level. Because it has its own AF-S motor, it will work on ALL Nikon digital cameras. Rather than being a more expensive version of the 80-200mm, this is a less expensive alternative to the 70-200mm VR.
