It will give about the largest TFOV (True Field of View ) possible with the 1-1/4" focus mount on your telescope. This gives you about a 1.76° true field for great deep-sky fields on an 8" f/5 reflector. This eyepiece has an AFOV (Apparent Field of View) of about 44°. This is an excellent eyepiece in appearance and and great performer. We believe it the equal of most any Plossl eyepiece in its focal length range regardless of the price. We also believe that our new black satin finish sets these apart from the common brands.All of our eyepieces are threaded for standard filters. They fit Meade, Orion, Celestron, OWL, and most other filters for 1.25" eyepieces. This deluxe version comes with a sturdy plastic bolt case that usually sells for $5. Contrast in very important to bring out faint deep-sky features and fine planetary detail. This eyepiece advanced multi-coated optics. The multi-coated optics on this eyepiece appear green at small angles and magenta (purple) at large angles. Multi-coating producing increased contrast and light transmission.One other fine point might be mentioned. When you tighten down the set screw on an eyepiece, you have a chance of marring the finish of the barrel. As shown in the photo, there is an indented ring on our eyepiece where the set screw fits. This allows you to use less pressure with the set screw on the eyepiece and still keep it in place. This eyepiece is a version of its type. It appears that this feature is not present on the other brands that share the same optical design. There were no compromises and a lot of thought going into the design of this eyepiece. This eyepiece fits the standard 1-1/4" (31.75 mm) eyepiece focus mount. If your telescope takes smaller eyepieces, it will not fit.Shipping on this item within the US is by mail for $5.75 including insurance and packing.
