The auction includes 3 Multi-Coated Quantaray 58mm Filters with cases. 58mm Circular Polarizer 58 mm UV 58mm Yellow (Y2) The filters are in excellent condition, no scratches on glass. These filters retail for $67.00 combined @ Ritz Camera, get them for less than half the cost here. A Circular Polarizer is necessary for use with auto focus cameras. Standard (or linear) polarizers can cause under exposed and out of focus pictures when used on an automatic focus camera. A polarizing filter will decrease reflections and glare from glass, water and other reflective surfaces. It can dramatically increase contrast and color saturation for sharp, vividly colored pictures. Retails for $31.99 @ Ritz Camera Multi-Coating improves overall quality of filter by correcting for refractive properties of the filter glass. With multi-coated glass your photos will look sharper and have more contrast. Though most people use the UV Haze to protect their lens from dust and scratches, it also absorbs ultra violet and blue rays without affecting exposure or color. Retails for $18.99 @ Ritz Camera Deep color filters such as Red, Yellow, Orange and Green are used to manipulate contrast with Black & White films, though they can also be used effectively with color films for color special effects. With Black & White films, colors in the original scene which are unlike the filter color will be rendered darkly.
