In high demand by Stereo Realist camera users Stereo Realist Film ID Unit David White Model ST523 Offered for auction here is a Realist Film Identification Unit for the Realist stereo camera. This is model ST523. Some features of this Realist camera accessory: All metal construction, compact, simple to use, adjustable indentations to fit tight over a Stereo Realist camera lens (3.5 or 2.8 it does not make a difference). What do you do with this? The official use is to attach in the left lens and use one of the blank frames as you load and advance the film, to record personal information on the film so that if the film gets lost, it can be traced back to you. This is achieved via a close up lens. The unit attaches to the lens as shown below. You can take a picture of your business card or something more meaningful that contains a date and subject so when you sort through your dozen of unmounted rolls :), you can tell when was this particular roll taken. An unofficial use that some people have done (not me) is to take close up pictures with the Realist. For this you need to move the unit from one lens to the other and also move the camera to reduce the spacing of the lenses (reduce the stereo base). Camera not included.
